Reese and Jim Make Their Date a Black and White Affair

Reese Witherspoon had the afternoon off from work and went to lunch with Jim Toth in Beverly Hills yesterday. The two looked ready for a meeting in their business attire, which is a departure from the usual relaxed weekend wear. She's been juggling her time between two men this Summer - she gets to make out with Robert Pattinson while filming Water for Elephants, but her real-life romance includes relaxing walks on the beach with Jim. As Reese relaxed, Rob was without his partner-in-crime on set where he flashed a sexy smile between scenes.

Reese Witherspoon to judge women awards

Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon, who is actively involved in children's and women's advocacy organisations, is set to judge a pioneering women's awards ceremony.

According to reports, the Oscar-winning actress is honorary chairperson of the Avon Foundation, which is teaming up with the Women's Aid charity to launch the Empowering Women's Awards, a ceremony to honour females who have survived violence in the home.

The 33-year-old star is delighted to be part of the initiative in which she will oversee the nominations and winners of the awards.

"Domestic violence affects one in four women in the UK and many are suffering in silence. It's so important that we find a way to reach out in every community and offer our understanding, protection and support," Witherspoon said.

Apart from Witherspoon, other judges on the panel include British Prime Minister Gordon Brown's wife Sarah Brown and celebrity TV chef Gordon Ramsay's wife Tana.

"I'm very proud to be part of the first ever Avon and Women's Aid Empowerment Awards in association with Marie Claire, drawing attention to the bravery of some incredible women who have stood up against domestic violence, and celebrating the achievements of others who are determined to end this debilitating pandemic," she added. The award winners will be announced later this year.

Cooper drops out of Witherspoon film

Bradley Cooper has scrapped plans to romance Reese Witherspoon on the big screen - he's dropped out of spy comedy This Means War to focus on The Hangover sequel.

The actor was due to team up with Witherspoon for the new movie, which sees two undercover agents fall in love with the same woman.

Terminator Salvation director McG is reportedly in negotiations to take charge of the picture, while production is slated to begin in July.

But Witherspoon will now be looking for a new leading man after Cooper pulled out of the project citing scheduling conflicts, according to EW.com.

Bosses at the website report Cooper will instead spend his time working on a follow-up to his successful Las Vegas comedy The Hangover, which is slated to begin filming later this year.
